Judging based on the buyers profile I'm going to say this guy isn't going to be getting his money from his PS3. The buyer has sold only 15 bead bracelets and no previous purchases.
This uy probably only sold his ps3 for $5,000. Everyone above that is not a registered user and as such isn't allowed to buy or sell. But that would be living the dream!

Got in line at the local walmart with a friend on rumors there would be 2 vouchers for the next 60GB consoles they receive. Waited there 13 and 14th in line with 12 consoles on site. Even though there were times that we thought we weren't gonna get lucky, especially at the end. We we able to be the lucky 2 to have the vouchers for the next 60gb's on site. They told us it will be a week or less before they get them in. WOOT! :D
I have my brother and cousins waiting in line at a nearby Best Buy. I'm not getting one...I need to eat more than I need to play with a PS3. :) But I will be getting a Wii Sunday morning.

I picked up a 20gb edition of the PS3 at Circuit City in NYC. I was one of 100 winners for a raffle for the 100 20gb. Waited 3hrs in the rain with no umbrella, was gonna call it quit after the first hour as I was soaked to my boxers! Friend talked me into waiting it out. So now I have a 20gb on Lauch, but not the 60gb which I preordered last month from GameStop. Hmm... what to do....
I was number 260 in the Q here in Hong Kong.Waited 2 hours and decided to come home to sleep.Didn't bother to go to the launch this morning.An email came from Sony few hours ago and I just managed to order mine online which is coming next week.They were sold out within an hour.

I was lucky enough to get one from a local Wal-Mart. They only had four 60 gb, two 20 gb and six rainchecks for 60 gb systems. I wanted a 60 gb, but all I could get was a 20 gb system but I was very glad to be lucky enough to get even that. So many people were turned away. My Playstation Network name is Joel
Nope didnt get one, was driving around at midnight last night with macbook out at ps3seeker.com trying to goto places that had the most 7 best buys, 7 walmarts, 5 targets and 4 circuit citys all had more people then systems. so i got some ihop and went home, the hell with it.

I was prepared to wait in line at 7pm Wednesday night at my local WalMart. There was no line and there were 6 systems. I was told by all of store management that there would be NO LINE until 10pm thursday. They told this to everyone who asked. Then, thursday afternoon I stopped in to talk to the managers about the safety concerns I had of announcing the line just 2 hours before launch. Apparently early in the morning 6 people formed a line and refused to move so the manager just said "ok, I guess this is the line". They lied to dozens of people who were there first. Thank you WalMart, your store manager is an idiot and a liar.
A similar thing happened to me at Circuit City. I was told by two different employees at different times that the line didn't start until 12:01 am on Friday. I arrive at 11pm last night to get ready to wait in line, and there already is a line of about 30 people. I ask the security guard what the deal is and he tells me that there was confusion and the line actually started at 12:01am on Thursday, not Friday. So now here I am on Friday afternoon, playstationless. I had counted down the days and made sure that I'd be one to get one, no matter how long it took me to camp out. But apparently Tuesday night is too early but then Wednesday afternoon at Target is too late.

My PS3 and Wii are sitting in my uncles office, he's already paid for them I just need to pick them up. I know the Wii isn't out yet but he says he got mine early I guess it pays to be a Game stop regional manager. Also I tend to believe him since he was able to get my 360 a couple of days early too. I will probably go by there about 11 or 12 tomorrow, as I can't be bothered to get up too early for a couple of toys. I am really more interested in playing with the Wii than the PS3 the games seem neat with the way they use the controller. Now I just need to use my Best Buy gift card for some extra games.

THURSDAY:
20 or so citizens of my town wait outside wal-mart
Manager:"those guys were here before they were allowed to be and they weren't really in line,they're just sitting in an RV, they don't get one"

i cruised around in the late evening scopin out local venues that had less people. about 2am i found 2 of them so i decided on the target on the outskirts of town. waited for about 5 minutes before one of the guys told me that there were only 8 and i was the 10th guy in line. damn. should i tempt fate and see if the bugger was lyin? nah. so i headed over to the target closer in town. everyone campin was asleep. only 6 people and an empty chair. i made myself comfy near that chair. about an hour later a camry rolls up, window rolls down, 2 dudes in the car, the driver asks if i know how many they have here. i dont know. then he says that there was a riot at the walmart on 82nd (one of the bigger streets in portland). apparently 200 people (probably an exaggeration) rushed the store, and cops had to be called in. everyone was put on the wall, and the ps3's were raffled off. he had been third in line, but didnt get one. that's when one of the campers woke up and told him there were only 6 here. i recounted... crud. again. ;p so yah.... now i have to get up at 6am to see if i can get a raffle ticket at one of the local stores that are doin raffles. doh!
I got mine. I preordered at FYE about a year ago. When the 360 came out, they were the only store taking preorders for the PS3. They are only getting one in, and since I was number 1, I get to pick mine up at 10:00 today.

I'm at work. It's 7:36am. No one's here. The lights are out. I haven't showered in 36 hours. I'm tired as hell. I've got a rain-check from wal-mart and probably pneumonia. All in all, I say it was a fun experience but I would never in my life do it again. Until the PS4 comes out. At one point a pimply kid came up to our tent and asked if we were going to sell our systems. In reply to our silence, which means yes, he said "you guys have no lives, do you?" So here's a message to all the haters out there: Despite popular belief, most people who play video games DO have lives and DO get laid. If you're passing off advice about dropping video games and picking up "wine" (wtf), you're trying too hard, and you probably have a small penis. And yes, I will sell my system on eBay. Does not mean I don't want to own a ps3. I do quite badly actually, but if it's a choice between shelling out 600 or making 1200 profit... hmmmmm

Yeah, I have one of those shafted stories. SonyStyle, St Louis, Thursday 6AM I show up preparing to join the line. Since our SS is inside a mall, there was no tents, and no lines for that matter. I wait until the store opens (and I was the first one in! ...on thursday) and they gave me one of the previously mentioned stories. There was even a Mall exec there that stated anyone that is on Mall property before 5:30AM on friday will be removed, and reiterated that they were dead serious. SO I get there at about 445 this (friday) morning, and start doing laps around the lot, and what do I see? A line of 48 people already there!! I rush to grab a parking spot, and talk to the guys at the back of the line. They said that the people in front had been there since 2PM Thursday afternoon.

My EB Games where I pre-ordered and was assured a PS3 was robbed last night and lost everything. Police all over the place this morning, yellow tape blocking off the entrance. They took all the ps3's, 360's and Wii's from the place, as well as the register. I took the day off to play PS3 today, now I have nothing.

I was in a WalMart last night at around 10 or so to pick up some food. Decided to give it a shot waiting on line, no camping just hanging out there for 2 hours. Well after waiting (was number 10 on line btw) I was told that they only recieved 8 and were not doing rain checks on the remaining items that they were supposed to have. I was told by the asst. mgr. that the vouchers were to be offered up by Sony and not WalMart. So after arguing with the guy for 5 minutes, I was told to leave the store. So I did, I guess no big loss but I could've/should've gotten something for that. Ah well....guess thats the lovely geniuses that work at walmart.

In Canada most units were allocated to BestBuy and there was an average of 10 units the most. one BestBuy had 100 Units and it was announced at the last minute. Notices were posted late last night of the short supply, Sony may have done this to control some of the eBay sales, due to the fact Sony looses $300 per unit while eBay sellers can make triple the amount. There were a lot of angry ppl and most of them went home with nothing in their hands.

Pre-order from EB Games, called them and they have my unit now, picking up at 10:00 a.m. No waiting, just the half hour I did before the pre-order.
I just got back from Best Buy in Fair Lakes (Fairfax VA). they had 32 units (22 60gb, 10 20gb) and I ended up being number 35 in line. :( I got there at 10pm thursday night, and dammit it was a cold night to come up short.

I took a day off to wait in line at the local wal-mart. I got in line bout 8am and was number 5. They said that they were only getting in 10. We all sat in the section with the cheap DVD, and video cable section. I can now safely say that I know the movie CARS by heart, because it played a grand total of about 9 times during my stay at Walmart.

Well Wednesday was the day that i started ...around 3 pm there was a line when i get there at best buy and circuit city.. i was number 45 on best buy and around 24 on CC, the manager of circuit city said that there only 6 PS3 on Wednesday night. Me and my friend stayed thinking that he was lying for security purposes, so i ditch Best Buy for circuit city at the end i was # 10 circuit but they only got 6 however Best buy got 45 ...now tell me if that doesn't suck.
I sold my spot in line at Wal-Mart for a quick $750 in cash after waiting an easy 24 and 1/2 hours.

I got to the Sony Style at South Coast Plaza at around 9am today. It was sort of a last resort after not being able to get it anywhere in SoCal. I hadn't done much research about it so I thought it opened at 10am, but obviously not because when I got there they said they were all out and I could reserve one, which I did...somewhere around #200...whoop dee doo
the employees at the local best buy said they had 30 PS3's and I was 28th in line on thursday morning, I wait all thursday and friday a.m., then at 7 this morning when they were suppose to hand out the tickets for the first 30 ppl. in line, they say, "unfortunately we only received the standard 26 that each store was alotted and were not able to get the extra 4". Thanks a lot assholes, i just sat in your parking lot for 26 hours. so the guy in front of me and the two ppl. behind me all got uber pissed and were about to start a fight or something, but bestbuy called the cops over from the circuity city across the street where they had just finished breaking up a gang fight of some nature, some black guys had exchanged punches over who was there first, pretty funny actually.
Me and my friend both got one preorded from EB here in town. We're both going to sell them on ebay and probably buy a wii, 360, and hdtv. I think it's ironic that people have gone to extrememe measures to get one because they wanted to play it so bad whereas my friend and I don't even want to play the damn thing and we got 2.

Just kidding -_^. I'm in the same boat as you. My girlfriend's an avid reader and artist and totally puts up with my tech nerdery. I don't get why everybody thinks we can't get girls. Its just as annoying for a lot of them to put up with other non-geeky male obsessions like cars, tools, sailing, etc. You just have to have enough personality that they're willing to put up with you -_^.
And with how computer based things are becomming, having "1337 techie skillz" is becoming akin to the age old "Mr. Fixit". A woman can appreciate a man who saves her important work/school files that she put tons of time into from the dangers of a massive virus XD. (Though I'm working on bringing her over to the Mac side so I won't have to worry about fixing -that- one.)

I woke up Wednesday morning and the last thing I had in mind was wait online for an item which I was more than sure I would not be able to buy. Me and one of my co-workers went to Circuit at noon and there were already about 250 people waiting. We went to the store and asked about how was all this going to work? 100 60GB units (to buy) available to the first 100 people that had a blue band (first in line) and 100 20GB Free units (raffle) to 750 other people with green bands also making the line. We thought to our selfs, "why not?"
We made the line at 1:30 PM and my friend's niece who came from Colorado joined us. We stood there waiting and waiting for our chance to win one of these babies. We were hungry, tired, soaking wet.
We planned out what to do if we won and decided to split the profit after the sell between the 3 of us...well ... we got 2 of these babies... FOR FREE!!! :-)

i got one, and for me it was not bad at all. i got on line downtown brooklyn at 3:30pm yesterday and waited until about 10:30, wrist band were given out (and once you got that you was in) waited to about 12:00am so they can register us and went home. got up this morning got on line paid and went back home.

I got there wednesday morning, 11am and was the 3rd person there. found out they only had 9 within 2 hours of sitting. it was really laid back and chill, we were at 9 people before 6pm and sent people away so as to not waste their time. since we all got along well, we could leave and come back, taking turns. no riots, all just shiny happy people. i had a blast and would do it again any time. 2 days and 2 nights? no problem at all. the store was even fine with us camping around my propane heater right out front for 2 nights... no tents though.

Just went to lunch and decided to stop at Best Buy near where I was eating. I walked up to the service desk for S&Gs and asked if they had any PS3s. The guy said they sold out in about 3 minutes at 8am this morning. So no surprise there. I walk around a bit to browse DVDs. I'm coming back past the service area and there's this woman, maybe early 50's and she has a death lock on this kid's ear. I'm assuming it's her son and does she look pissed. She's got a PS3 at her feet so I get a bit closer and she steps to the counter and wants to return it because her kid skipped school to wait in line and buy it. Here's where it gets better still. The Best Buy person says he can't accept the return because she didn't have the receipt and the kid said he 'lost' it. The woman goes off and I politely tell her that I understand why she's returning it, to teach her son a lesson and that I'll buy it off her. She calms down and we go outside. I ask for her name to make the check out to her because the ATM only spits out $300 and her son starts protesting more and she said $300 will be fine, smacks the kid and tells him to shut up. A quick trip across the parking lot to the atm and I have me a $600 PS3 for $300. Granted it wasn't free like some people in the posts have gotten from raffles or what not, but seeing a 16-17 year old kid getting the crap beaten out of him by his mother was worth the $300 alone!
I went inside the Sony Style Store at Valley Fair last night - I played the PS3 for about 5 minutes before it hung up with the image frozen on the screen, music stuck on the same note.
Yeah, Sony makes a lot of great stuff, and the PS3 is nice, but it's not going to be free of just as many problems as the 360 originally had or anything else.

Well, I have no idea if I have one or not. Costco needs to learn how to handle a web site and how to handle customer service. I have had one in my cart for hours. Trying to checkout, the site keeps giving errors. Then it goes down. Then it comes back. And the item is still in my cart. I get a page in, and then errors; two pages, then a page, etc. I get as far as getting to the credit card screen FINALLY. Did it submit? Who knows, because I just get an error screen. So, I try to call. Surely, they can tell me if it completed, and if it didn't, finish the sale I was in the middle of? I can send them screen shots that it's in the basket, etc. But the CSR was nasty and rude. I ask her about completing a transaction I'm in the middle of online. She says the site's down, try back later. I say, okay, but I can get to the screens, so it can't be completely down, I just get errors so I don't know if I have a confirmation or not. She say try the site later, you can't get the items on the site any other way. I ask if the item will remain in my basket, and for how long - and SHE HANGS UP ON ME!!! And of course I was lucky to have a shot of the phone number since the site keeps going down. I am actually rather pissed off now- if she'd even tried to help or be helpful, that'd be one thing - but I didn't even mention what I was getting, so it's not like she was just blowing off one of the PS3 people...
Walked into the Mall this morning at about 9AM on my way to work, walked up to the no-name game shop, asked if they still had an PS3's left, and they said that so far this morning I was the first to buy one, slapped down my 6 Ben's, walked out. I got to work, and decided to throw it up on eBay with a buy-it-now price of $3750, starting bid of $1200. I come back to my desk about 10 minutes later, and check ebay and then I am wondering where my listing went, and as it turns out someone had already bought it, payed, and sent me two emails asking when I could ship it. I wasn't planning on even buying one.
The Wal-Mart in Renssalaer Indiana was a scene of pure chaos and mayhem when the doors closed at 9:59pm last night. I had ventured from my snug home in the south suburbs of Chicago in hopes of snagging a ps3 from this small Indiana town. I arrived with a buddy at 8:00pm, made my way back to the A/V clerk and asked what the setup was. NO milling in front of the doors till the store closed at 10pm. The store had 2 20gb and 2 60gb ps3s as well as 6 vouchers to hand out. At 10:00pm an official line would form but no tickets would be handed out untill the store opened at 7:00am the next morning. We browsed the aisles till 9:57 and then stepped outside to see a 30ft line of people, "about 50" standing parallel and about 20ft from the 6ft wide entrance doors. The manager, "Jim" stated that at 10:00 his assistant would raise his hand to signal a mad dash to the doors, the first people to reach these doors would be granted the right to get a ticket WHEN THE STORE OPENED. I just decided at that point to hang back since things had gotten ugly. Jim's minion raised his hand and as the people at the front collided into the glass the momentum of the people at the back pushed them forward into the store. A broken nose, a hyperextended knee later, everyone was looking around in shock. There was no clear line but rather a knot of people huddled into a small space. The police pushed their way through to examine the injured and Jim announced that unless there was a clear line by tomorrow morning then no PS3s would be given out. the knot remained, I stood there laughing and joking with my buddy but then someone knocked over a can filled with wet cigarette butts and the guy behind me vomited on my jacket. Was it a tactic or was he really sick? Jim had gone back inside to call corporate and came back out saying the same thing. We needed to form a clear line. The way the whole situation was handled amazes me. He obviously was not prepared in any way for the mob that was dropped into his lap. My friend and I, having seen the crowd and having decided our time was better spent elsewhere, retreated to our car and went back home. I ended my evening by playing a rousing game of Gears of War while nursing a cup of hot coffee. so in closing I say, Viva La Wii!!!

You kno what? I didnt. I didnt because I dont wanna get shot... damn, shooting over PS3, society has basically gona as far down as to put their lives on risk for an inanimate, non-emotional, ungrateful object... wow lol
got my ps3. the box is a little damaged because someone tried to mug me while i was waiting for the elevator in my own apartment. A 300lbs black sideswiped me with a punch to the cheek and face. eventually filed a police report. luckily, the attempted robbery was in broad day light with about 100 witness. Two strangers and i approached the african american individual. he said he need it for his kids, but i think it was a bunch of BS. after talking with him about 30 seconds, the guy dropped the ps3 box on the ground and ran away. seriously this is stupid. i live literally across the street from a gamestop in the bay area.
i Paid 4 homeless guys $75 each to wait on line over night for me... $25 each per day. it was $50 per day, they actually stayed. i have 4 PS3s :P and i plan to auction em on ebay a few weeks before X-Mass... thats when there will be a crazy rush
uhh... i decided to instead play my cheaper and just as good 360. Gears of War just so happens to be the best game to come out this year, and it sure as hell isnt for the turdstation.
Just walked up to my local gamecrazy and picked it up no hassles, its good to be the king :)
